About Our Church

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

Welcome! The members of Christ the King are a family of believers in Jesus Christ. We are a group of sinners who are loved by Jesus and called to love others.

We believe that the entire Bible is God’s Word. God’s Word is centered on Jesus, the Savior of the world who cares about you and me personally. We are happy to share the certainty that through Jesus your sins are completely forgiven, and you are at peace with God. God is with you, God will use everything that happens for your good, and God will take you to be with Him in heaven.

Our mission as a congregation is to share this message of God’s love and eternal life with everyone we can reach. We warmly welcome all guests. There’s no dress code. Whether you wear a tie or have tattoos, whether you are a native Oklahoman or new in the area, whether you are single, divorced, or married, you are welcome. Jesus loves you, and we do too!

At Christ the King, we are…

GROWING UP  |  GROWING TOGETHER  |  GROWING OUT

We grow up in our faith in Jesus as God’s Word is proclaimed in worship, and as we study God’s Word in our Bible classes. Our worship services are every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., and Bible class is before worship at 9:00 a.m. We would love to have you join us! In addition, students in grades 6 through 8 have a weekday class with Pastor Nathan in which they study all of the teachings of the Bible.

As we grow up in our faith in Jesus, we grow together as we devote ourselves to getting to know one another and caring about one another’s needs. Our church is a family that knows each other and cares about each other deeply. Are you looking for community or connections? Come and grow together with our family at Christ the King.

Finally, we also want to grow out as we share the message of Jesus with the people of our city. With God’s blessing, we hope to one day outgrow our new church facility and take on the mission of planting another congregation somewhere else in the metro Tulsa area.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God.

We believe that God is three persons in one Being: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible proclaims what God has done through our Savior, Jesus, to save a world of dying sinners for a full life of faith now and a life of glory forever in heaven.

As a Lutheran church, we believe that we receive salvation through Christ alone, by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, and this has been revealed to us by the Scriptures alone.

Our church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

OUR CONGREGATION

The goal of many Christian churches in America is to grow to become a mega-church.  Not so with Christ the King Lutheran Church.  We recently built a new church building. The facility is large enough for a congregation of between 200-250 people. Once we reach that number, we hope to plant daughter congregations around the Tulsa metro area. Here’s why:

FAMILY

We want a congregation that has a family feel, a church where members get to know each other and interact outside of Sunday morning, a church where the pastor calls you by name will visit you at home if you invite him to do so.

SUPPORT

We want a congregation where, if a crisis arises in our life or we have an issue that bothers us, we can turn to our pastor and our brothers and sisters in Christ and know that they care about us and will bring us comfort from God’s Word.

JESUS FIRST

Instead of focusing on programs or events or media or technology, we want a congregation that focuses everything it does on Jesus Christ our Savior and his Word in the Bible. It’s only Jesus and his Word that bring us true comfort and peace.
