“Breaking News!!!” How often have you seen that over the past week? News seems to be breaking faster than we can possibly read or watch it. As a pastor, I’ve sent out an email to our congregation in the morning, only to have to send out a completely different email in the afternoon. It’s crazy! How can we not panic? Who’s in control?
You know. God is! Listen to Jesus’ promise: “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29-31). Think about those words. God controls every little thing that happens to every little bird. God knows how many hairs are on your head, even though that changes daily. Do you think he controls your life? Of course! Jesus died and rose for you to prove it. Don’t panic. Here’s the best breaking news of all: God’s in control!
