Ever feel like you’re chasing after the wind? It’s not a good feeling. You’re never going to catch it. Who can possibly catch the wind? Wise King Solomon put it like this: “Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 2:11). You toil so hard to accomplish and achieve and succeed. Yet, no matter what you do, it’s never enough. We wear ourselves out chasing after the wind.
So know this: You don’t have to chase anymore. Life isn’t about us chasing or achieving anything. It’s about how Jesus sought us, found us, and saved us. Jesus chased after us to live for us, die for us, rise for us, and bring us into the family of God. That means life is about trust in Jesus and his salvation. You can chase after the wind all you want, or you can rest securely in the arms of Jesus and his grace.
