God Is Pro-life

Today (January 22) marks a solemn anniversary. 47 years ago today, the Supreme Court legalized abortion nationwide through its Roe vs. Wade decision. Since that fateful day, tens of millions of babies have been aborted in the U.S. Decades after that decision, the debate still rages: Pro-life or pro-choice?

While the court of public opinion still wavers back and forth, here’s something that isn’t up for debate: God is pro-life. King David beautifully described God’s life-giving power in Psalm 139: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:13-16). Those words are true for every baby—and for you!

Thankfully, God’s love of life didn’t stop when he created us. In love, he sent his son Jesus to save us from our sins, including the sin of abortion. He offers forgiveness and life to us through Jesus. There is no doubt. God is pro-life! May God give you courage to speak up for life—for every life that he’s created.

Say a prayer for our country today that one day soon the slaughter of God’s little creations would end.
