We human beings have an arrogance about us. From little on, we think we can get away with things. We think we can pull a fast one on others. We think no one will notice. That’s nothing new. 3,000 years ago, people were saying, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice” (Psalm 94:7).
Is that true? No way! Here’s God’s response: “Take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise? Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge? The LORD knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile” (Psalm 94:8-11). It’s hard to argue with that, isn’t it? If God made eyes, if God made ears, what do you think he can do? See. Hear. Everything. So don’t hide your sins. God already knows. Confess them. Repent of them. There’s no hiding from God.
But here’s what’s amazing: Even though God see and hears everything in your life, he still loves you! It’s grace—completely underserved love. God noticed our sin, so he sent Jesus to be our Savior. Don’t hide your sins from God. He already sees them. Don’t hide your sins from God. He’s already forgiven them!
