Jesus’ Peace

Looking for peace? It’s hard to find, isn’t it? Financial peace feels great, until the roof starts leaking. Family peace brings joy, until your son shocks the family and everything seems to fall apart. World peace is easy to talk about, as terrorists threaten, treaties break, and children starve. Peace is hard to find!

Unless you know Jesus. On the night before he died, Jesus gave his disciples this promise: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). How were the disciples supposed to have peace in the face of Jesus’ death? Because Jesus’ death is exactly what brings you real peace. Your sins are forgiven—every single one! God your Father loves you with an everlasting love—it never changes! Heaven is waiting for you—no matter what! So don’t let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. No matter how much the world rages around you, you have peace in Jesus!
