How long does love last? Unfortunately, by now you’ve learned that often love doesn’t last very long. Our human love is fickle and constantly changing. We make promises—and break them. We say we’re committed—until we’re not. Love never lasts long enough. So we despair or even give up on love.
Not with Jesus! Listen to how Jesus’ love is described: “Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end” (John 13:1). How long does Jesus’ love last? To the end! Jesus doesn’t love us just until the going gets tough. Jesus doesn’t love us just until we mess up. Jesus loves us to the end! He proved it. Jesus loves you to the cross. To the grave. To the sky. He’s not going to stop now. No matter where you go or what you do or what challenges you face, Jesus loves you to the end!
