Nothing can separate you from God’s love. Do you believe that? It’s hard. Sometimes we seem to be separated from God’s love. Sometimes it seems like no one loves us at all. Sometimes our lives seem to scream out: “You are all alone!” You’re not. Nothing can separate you from God’s love.
Here’s proof: “I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39).
That’s quite a list! Death, life, angels, demons… None of those can separate you from God’s love! You could make your own list: Depression, cancer, heartache, rejection, criticism, pain, old age, loneliness… Can any of those things separate you from God’s love? No!
Because God’s love is undeserved. It’s not based on your behavior or your circumstances. It’s based on Jesus, who lived, died, and rose for you. When you’re good, and when your bad, God loves you. When life is good, and when life is bad, God loves you.
Nothing can separate you from God’s love. You need to hear that today. No matter what’s going on in your life and in your head and in your heart, nothing “will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
