Feel rejected? Alone? Pushed away by even the people you thought were your family and friends? David in the Bible understood that feeling. He was laughed at by his older brothers. Chased for years by King Saul who wanted to kill him. He lived on the run for years. Think he felt rejected? Alone? You bet!
But he wasn’t. And David knew it. “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me” (Psalm 27:10). Even if his own parents would forsake him, David knew he would never be alone. The Lord was with him. The Lord had received him. With the Lord, David didn’t have to fight to get attention. He didn’t have to be good to gain approval. He was loved. Forgiven. So are you! Do you think Jesus your Savior who gave up his own life for you will ever abandon you? No way! You’re saved and forgiven. May David’s confidence be yours today: “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”
