Your Wedding

Are summer weddings starting to fill up your calendar? Don’t forgot the most important one: Yours! One of the most beautiful ways the Bible describes God’s love for us is like the love of a bridegroom for his bride. God told his people long ago, “I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord” (Hosea 2:19-20). In the middle of all the weddings, don’t forget your own—to God!

No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, God loves you. That’s the message of Hosea. In fact, God had Hosea marry an unfaithful prostitute. Why? To show the extent of God’s grace to you and me. Are you looking for true love? Are you looking for someone who will be faithful to you forever? You can find it in Jesus, who gave his life to make you his own. Listen to God’s wedding vows to you: “I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.”
